Hueston Woods State Park Life Safety Improvements – College Corner, OH

Arcon was selected to complete the life safety improvements at the scenic Hueston Woods State Park Lodge in College Corner, Ohio. This project was completed in 2021 at a cost of around $2,000,000 and consisted of a new lake-side pumphouse building housed above an intake system to pull water in from the lake and pump it uphill to feed a new 10” fire-service loop containing 6 new fire hydrants stategically placed around the facility. This critical life-safety installation includes a backup generator allowing the system to be fully operational regardless of the situation. Inside, the existing fire alarm system for the entire lodge and hotel was replaced with a new state of the art fire alarm system. This project also features a new 8” thick concrete fire lane that circles the entire lodge and hotel allowing complete access for any fire department apparatus that may be necessary.
